Gringo Gulch is the tiny historic hill on the north bank of the Río Cuale above the cathedral, where Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton lived in the 1960s and Casa Kimberly still stands, now a hotel. A handful of villas and small condo buildings on steep cobblestone lanes with river and bay views, a few minutes' walk down to the Malecón or across the bridge to the Romantic Zone.
