Las Varas, Pueblo de Las Varas, is the inland agricultural town of the Compostela municipality in the Sierra de Vallejo on the San Blas corridor of the northern Nayarit coast, north of the official Riviera Nayarit destinations and well north of the Bay of Banderas: a plaza, a charro ring, the Mojigangas festival, and the traditional hub from which the roads fan out to Chacala and the coast.
