About El Anclote
El Anclote is the original Punta Mita: the small beachfront fishing hamlet at the south-east base of the peninsula, with the public beach, calm and swimmable with a surfable point break, the fish-taco row of Cecilia's, Papa Pepe's and the beach palapas, and the boat launch for the Marietas Islands, eight kilometres and fifteen to twenty minutes out by speedboat. The stock is walk-up beachfront condos, Anclote 1102 and Faro de Mita among them, five to ten minutes by car from the gated villas.
Buyers are second-home owners and rental investors who want the beach, the restaurants and the boats without the resort gates. The beach clubs and the surf make it lively, so check a unit's exposure; the gates, buildings and beaches of the wider headland are spread along ten kilometres of highway, so a car or golf cart is the norm; the airport is forty to forty-five minutes. Foreigners hold through a fideicomiso and the notary checks the parcel's history on the corridor.
