How LikeTheArea works

The five steps

1. You scan a sign on the street (or open likethearea.com on your phone).
2. The site asks once: where are you? Your GPS stays on the phone.
3. You see every property for sale near you, nearest first. Each card shows the photo, the USD price and the peso price the listing office filed — never converted.
4. Tap one card to see every photo and the full description.
5. Tap WhatsApp, call, or "send me this list" to talk to a real agent.

Where the data comes from

LikeTheArea pulls its listings from the AMPI Vallarta Nayarit MLS through Spark, the MLS's authorised data feed. Six times a day (05:00, 09:00, 13:00, 17:00, 21:00 and 01:00) the site is rebuilt with the freshest data; the footer on every page shows when it was last updated.

Only Active and Pending listings are shown. Closed and Expired listings are filtered out.

What "Updated N h ago" means

The footer on every page shows the time of the last full data rebuild. "Updated 3 h ago" means the listings you are looking at came from the MLS about three hours ago; the next rebuild is never more than four hours away. Listings move quickly on the bay; if you are interested, tap the card.

Your location stays on the phone

When you allow your location, the site uses it only to rank the listings nearest to you. Your GPS coordinates are never sent to our servers, never stored, and never shared with anyone.

Three ways to look

• Walkable — within 500 m. The houses on your block.
• Nearby — within 1 km. A short walk in any direction.
• The whole area — within 2 km. The wider neighbourhood.

The toggle is on every list. Switch between the three levels at any time.
